Capitals Beat Senators To End 8-Game Skid

The Capitals topped the Senators 3-2 on Sunday to end their eight-game losing streak. Washington scored three times in a 6:21 span early in the second to erase a 2-0 deficit. The Capitals, which also had two goals disallowed, had been held to 11 goals during their 0-6-2 skid. "We felt like we won a championship," Mathieu Perreault said. "We needed that win so much for our confidence and just for the team. That was a huge win for us."

The Canucks defeated the Oilers on Sunday for their third-straight road win. Vancouver hasn't won three consecutive road games in more than a year. "They didn't play to their standards and we played a really solid game," Daniel Sedin said. "That's what happens sometimes. I felt we played one of our best games of the year." The Canucks outshot Edmonton 32-12, with the Oilers registering only one shot in the third period for the second game in a row.
